MULTAN: Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani’s son Ali Haider Gilani has said that Indian intelligence agency RAW provides funds and weapons to Pakistani Taliban to launch attacks against the security forces in Pakistan.
Talking to media on Wednesday, he made it clear that the Afghan Taliban had nothing to do with his kidnapping, adding that banned terror outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was involved in his kidnapping.
He said RAW provides fund and weapons to Pakistani Taliban to launch an attack against security personnel deployed at different check posts in the country and northern areas. He said that he had informed all that to former army chief Raheel Sharif, adding that our security agencies are well informed about it.
Responding a question about the CTD’s stance that the murdered suspects were allegedly involved in his kidnapping, he said he doesn’t know whether that is true.
He said the Sahiwal case was a brutal incident in Pakistan’s history. Four persons were brutally killed in the incident and the action is strongly condemnable, he added.
“I don’t know whether the persons killed by CTD officials in Faisalabad were involved in my kidnapping,” Gilani said.
At least, six terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan were involved in his kidnapped, he said. They kept him locked in Faisalabad for two and a half month. Later, they shifted him to North Waziristan where they kept him for over two years.
After that, he was shifted to Afghanistan where American forces rescued him during an operation against terrorists. He linked his kidnapping with the armed forces’ operations against terrorists in the country.
He said there were factors behind his kidnapping. The first was that he was a son of the country’s prime minister while the second was the murder of Osama bin Laden, he added.
