KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Tuesday again sent a legal notice to former party leader Dr Farooq Sattar over the illegal use of the party’s name, electoral symbol and flag.
MQM-P claimed that Dr Farooq Sattar’s party membership was terminated in September 2018 last year. However, he is still using the party’s name over which the party has serious concerns.
The party warned that legal action would be taken if Sattar continues to do so. The letter was signed by MQM-P’s convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and lawyer Gul Faraz Khan.
On 8 January 2019 MQM-P’s Rabita Committee had sent the same notice to Sattar over illegal use of the party’s name, electoral symbol and flag.
Earlier, on 13th September last year, Sattar resigned as a member of the party’s Rabita Committee. He sent his resignation to party’s convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
Later, a party meeting, held at the Bahadurabad office of the MQM-P, accepted Sattar’s resignation before issuing him a notice over alleged violation of discipline.
