LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday extended the judicial remand of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi and others in provocative speeches and ransacking case for another 10 days.

Earlier, besides Khadim Hussain Rizvi, TLP leaders, including Pir Afzal Qadri, Ashraf Asif, Ejaz Ashrafi and others were produced before ATC Judge Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad on expiry of their judicial remand.

The prosecution requested the court to extend the judicial remand of the accused during the proceedings. The court was also told that the police had submitted challan (charge sheet) to the prosecution department.

At this, the court extended judicial remand of all the accused for another 10 days with a direction for producing them again on expiry of the remand term.

The Civil Lines Police had registered a case against the accused on charges of provocative speeches, ransacking of government and public properties and others during the protests.

It is pertinent to mention that the government had taken TLP chief and others into protective custody on November 23 from Lahore. However, later, they were handed over to police for investigations of the case.
