PSQCA collected 190 samples of fizzy drinks during 2016-18 for quality check

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) has collected 190 samples of fizzy drinks during the years 2016-18 to check the quality of the drinks as per standards of the authority.

According to an official source, out of these 190 samples, the authority has collected 91 samples from different units, 77 of import, 22 from open market during the period.

The authority has found only eight non-conformity cases and issued notices to the production units of the fizzy drinks while seized the stock of four units for not complying with the guidelines of PSQCA regarding maintaining the standard of fizzy drinks.

PSQCA was established by Act-VI of 1996 to provide one window services for Standardisation and Conformity Assessment.

The main function of the authority is to foster and promote standards and conformity assessment as a means of advancing the national economy, promoting industrial efficiency and development, ensuring the health and safety of the public, protecting the consumers.
