ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to hold the meetings of a High-Powered Selection Board (HPSB) and Central Selection Board (CSB) twice a year, Pakistan Today has learnt.
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, the meetings of HPSB would be held in March and September every year while the meetings of CSB would be held in the third week of April and October.
“The undersigned is directed to refer to the above subject schedule for holding the meetings of High-Powered Selection Board and Central Selection Board and to state that promotion of the civil servants is made in accordance with Civil Servants Act, 1973 and rules made under that as well as Revised Promotion Policy, 2007 amended from time to time on the promotion of civil servants, the competent authority has been pleased to approve the following schedule of meetings of selection boards for each calendar year,” the notification read.
It is pertinent to mention here that the government is bound to hold the meetings twice a year but the meetings were not held in the past many years. The incumbent government, however, held the HPSB meeting in November 2018 CSB meeting in November 2018.
