Drinking water supply scheme for Mardan Khel, Halala launched

Chairman of district advisory development committee Mian Nisar Gul inaugurated the drinking water supply scheme for Mardan Khel and Halala on Friday and informed that the said schemes will cost Rs 2.0 million and Rs 2.1 million respectively. Addressing inauguration ceremonies of projects, DADC chairman said completion of the said schemes will fulfill the long standing demand of residents of these areas.
He said the drinking water issue of Tehsil Banda Daud Shah will be resolved, adding that work on more water supply schemes will be initiated soon in the Tehsil. Nisar Gul also inspected ongoing work of drinking water supply schemes of Kundi and landoki and expressed resentment over the substandard material used in projects. He asked the sub divisional officer of Public Health Engineering department to transfer sub engineers of the said projects.
He directed the XEND public health engineering Muhammad Sadiq and sub divisional officer to explain use of substandard materials in the projects. Inspecting the under construction Mardankhel dam, Nisar Gul suggested extension of irrigation canals upto Isak Khumari, Ormer and other adjacent area to bring maximum area under cultivation. He directed XEN to expedite work on the dam and called for surprise visits at ongoing projects in the district.
