Govt pursuing pro-active foreign policy for country’s economic prosperity: President Alvi

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Sunday said that the government is pursuing a pro-active foreign policy deeply embedded in the economic prosperity of the country.

In an interview with a private TV channel, he credited Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and his team for pursuing a pro-active foreign policy aimed at securing Pakistan’s interests.

He said that the prime minister responded to the Indian leadership in a mature manner while enhancing the country’s prestige and also undertook visits to Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE and engaged with the Afghan leadership to trace a solution to the Afghan issue.

The president said that the United States of America (USA) also realised the importance of Pakistan due to the country’s effective foreign policy.

Replying to a question, he said that the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government is taking the country towards a dignified status among the comity of nations.

Regarding the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said that the mega project is ensuring the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

He concluded by stressing on the need to explore the country’s mineral resources.
