LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Saturday that the government gave top priority to reforming the health sector so that better facilities are available for the masses visiting public hospitals across the province.

“The provision of best healthcare facilities at hospitals is the right of all patients and the government will ensure the provision of this right at all costs. Every necessary measure will be taken to provide standardised medical facilities at public hospitals,” he said while speaking to different delegations at his office.

CM Buzdar said a roadmap to provide modern health facilities to the people has been prepared and resources will be provided on a priority basis to improve health facilities and implement the proposed reforms.

He also said the health sector reforms programme would have far-reaching effects on the healthcare system. “The purpose of reforms in the health sector is to provide standardised, best and modern health facilities to the people.”

Buzdar further said an effective system of check and balance would be put in place for further improvements and the public would benefit from the funds earmarked for improvements in the health sector.
