Ahmed Saya, a Pakistani teacher from Karachi, has been shortlisted for the Cambridge University’s ‘Dedicated Teacher Awards 2019’.
Saya is currently teaching A-level students at the Cordoba School in Karachi. He is one of six teachers from across the world shortlisted for the award this year.

“He’ll always be ready to spare his weekends whenever a student needs his help, be it academically or anything personal. I have seen him when CAIEs approach, he spends sleepless nights, conducting extra classes, catering each and every student’s problem so that each one excels. I have never seen someone who checks your homework everyday in a class of 100 students just to ensure that each and everyone is on track. He actually deserves this for working so hard to ensure that his students are good humans,” read’s Saya’s profile on the website.
“This year, we’ll be showcasing amazing teachers and expressing our appreciation inside our new books,” the Cambridge University Press said on its website.
Other than Saya, others shortlisted for the award include Abhinandan Bhattacharya from India, Anthony Chelliah from Sri Lanka, Australia’s Candice Green, Jimrey Dapin from Philippines and Malaysia’s Sharon Kong Foong.
