GUJRAT: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi on Friday took notice of a person’s death at the Kakrali police station and suspended the Kharian DSP, SHO and Muharrar concerned.
As per the details, a citizen who allegedly owed Rs800,000 to another person was brought to the Kakrali police station where he died during interrogation.
On the orders of IGP Saleemi, Gujrat DPO Syed Ali Mohsin took action and suspended the SHO and Muharrar of the Kakrali police station.
The DPO also constituted an inquiry team, comprising Gujrat SP (Investigation), Sarai Alamgir DSP and Sadar Circle DSP, which investigated the matter and presented its report to the IGP.
The police chief then ordered immediate suspension of Kharian DSP over professional misconduct, negligence and carelessness in official duties.
