MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has directed all departments concerned to immediately restore the Neelum Valley road that had been damaged at Nauseeri due to rain on Tuesday.
The prime minister directed the Communication Department to coordinate with army and Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) for the earliest restoration of the road link and also open an alternate route through Leswa Bypass by clearing snow.
Visiting the site Wednesday, the AJK premier directed the geophysicist to design the road portion swept in the dam as early as possible so that construction could immediately be started.
PM Haider said that he had sought a report from the district administration of Neelum on the stock of edible items according to which there was no shortage of food in the valley.
He was informed by the departments concerned that alternate road link through Leswa Bypass would soon be opened as snow clearing work had been started.
Haider said his government was aware of the situation and assured the people of Neelum Valley that every step to restore the link with Muzaffarabad would be taken.
