The Shahdadpur police arrested a man involved in the killing of his elder sister on accusation of having an illegitimate relation on Friday.
Alleged accused Soomar Hajano had shot dead his widowed sister, Zainab Hajano, 40, on Saturday in Mahar Ali Talpur village within the limits of Shahdadpur police station. An FIR was registered against the suspect on the complaint of woman’s brother Ummar Hajano.
Sources told Pakistan Today that Zainab had married Tooh Khaskeli eight months ago on her freewill but after their marriage, her husband was murdered on charges of karo-kari by the woman’s family. Later, on directives of the Sindh High Court Hyderabad circuit bench, Zainab was shifted to the Darul Amaan.
Villagers said a jirga was held some days ago in Shadadpur, which was attended by Hajano and Khaskeli clans. The jirga charged a penalty of Rs 1 million on the Khaskheli community.
After mutual understanding by both parties, brother of the deceased woman brought back his sister from Darul Aman on July 9 by assuring the court of providing her security.
However, Zainab was gunned down by Soomar who surrendered before the Shahdapur police after the incident.
