LAHORE: At least two persons were killed and four others wounded when an over-speeding bus hit a rickshaw in Kot Abdul Malik near Lahore on Friday.
Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the casualties to a nearby hospital. According to officials, the accident was so severe that both the deceased died on the spot.
Police have registered a case against the bus driver and an investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, five people were critically injured when a car ploughed through pedestrians in Gujranwala. The driver was held and handed over to the police after being beaten up by locals.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment whereas the driver has admitted losing control of the vehicle due to over-speeding. “I was in a hurry,” he said.
