LAHORE: Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister (SAPCM) on Information and Culture Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the unnatural Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance has met a natural death, as Pakistan Poeples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has checkmated Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chief Fazl-ur-Rehman and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz.
In a statement, Firdous said that both Fazl and Maryam are perturbed now. She advised Maryam to stop day-dreaming and realise the facts. “The PDM cabal has been cut to size, as Prime Minister Imran Khan has devastated the hereditary politics with the support of the people. The opposition parties are struggling for their political survival,” she said.
Separately addressing a training workshop arranged under the auspices of Insaf Welfare Wing (IWW) at a local hotel, Firdous said that the IWW is endeavouring to carry forward the vision of the PM and contributing towards the uplift of the society.
“The IWW is functioning as a think tank at the party level and providing valuable advice to the government on public welfare initiatives. Moreover, its members are enthusiastically participating in the public welfare projects. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is pursuing people-friendly policies as the welfare of masses is the priority of the government,” she said.
Later talking to the media, Firdous said that the PM is the biggest obstacle in the way of corrupt politicians, who miserably looted the public exchequer in the past. The PTI believes in the supremacy of law and strives hard to form such a system, in which rule of law prevails.
Commenting on the arrest of PML-N’s Khawaja Asif, she said that another imposter, who robbed the people in the guise of a leader, has been exposed. “On which tractor-trolley these illegal assets were loaded and brought to the country?” she asked from Asif.
Talking about Maryam’s address on the eve of PML-N Foundation Day at Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), she said that Maryam claimed to be a daughter of a brave man, but in reality she is the daughter of an absconder. “How PML-N leaders can ask the Kashmiris to fight for independence bravely when they themselves escaped the country to avoid hardships,” she asked.
“Standing among the Kashmiris, unfortunately, Maryam was promoting the narrative of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Maryam mentioned PM Imran more than her father during her address in the AJK. If Maryam runs an election campaign in the AJK, the results would not be different than Gilgit-Baltistan elections,” she concluded.
