PESHAWAR: In what appears to be serious differences within the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) ranks, former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) JUI-F chief Maulana Gul Naseeb has also criticised policies of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Terming Maulana Sherani an honest man, Maulana Gul Naseeb said that the parameters of authenticity have now changed in the JUI-F after the inclusion of rich members in the party.
The election tickets of JUI-F are being awarded on the basis of the money after the joining of Talha Mehmood and Azeemullah, he claimed. “Old workers are leaving the party due to confusion,” he alleged. He underlined the need for reforms in the ranks of the JUI-F and termed it essential for the future of the party.
Earlier, Maulana Sherani criticised JUI-F chief Fazl, asking how could he call PM Imran Khan a “selected” leader when he, himself, was “selected”. Sherani had gone on to say that PM Imran would complete his term and would be elected for the next five-year term also.
Sherani spelt doom for the 11-party anti-government alliance, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM, led by Fazl.
Talking to the media in Quetta, the disgruntled JUI-F central leader said that the PDM is an “unnatural alliance” that would soon break up because it had no ideology.
“My basic and principled difference with him [Fazl] is [that he is] lying,” Sherani, also a former chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), said, adding that the JUI-F chief has also persuaded all the scholars to use lies. “We have been opposing this war in the disguise of riots since the beginning,” he said.
Sherani said that the JUI-F always opposed any hereditary leadership in the party. “We are against the turning of the party into a hereditary party. That has always been opposed in the party institutions and now it is being opposed openly,” he added.
