TEL AVIV: In a major development in the ongoing changing of long-held positions in the middle east, Israel has agreed to limit itself to its year 2067 borders.
“This agreement is going to quell fears about any supposed expansionist designs of the Israeli state and actually vindicates the recent position taken by the United Arab Emirates,” said UAE foreign minister Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan. “If even this doesn’t put to rest fears in the hearts of the Arab world, then I think we’re due for some introspection here.”
“No, no, (Israeli) foreign minister Ashkenazi didn’t actually sign the agreement, but said agreed,” said al-Nahyan.
“Well, he didn’t say it either but nodded his head, with a smile on his face, but we know what that means,” he said.
