Ghani says ‘unbiased’ committee should tackle illegal buildings issue

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani on Friday said that if an unbiased committee is formed to tackle the illegal construction issue than he has no objection over the matter.

Talking to media outside Supreme Court’s Karachi registry, Ghani said that the apex court rightly said that the officials of KBCA are involved in the illegal construction and the court should summon them for inquiry.

“It is not the issue of previous 10 years but for several years, however, the government of Sindh has also done some very important work but it was neglected,” he said.

Replying a question over illegal construction in Chaniser goth, he said that those illegal building will not only be razed but the arrangements will be made to settle them.

He said whenever he is called by the apex court, he will appear before it adding that he did not receive any orders to explain the position of the Sindh government on the issue taken up by the Supreme Court.
