KARACHI: The Department of Health, Government of Sindh and the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi (UoK) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve on the health department’s Chemico Bacteriological Laboratory.
The provincial government, as per the agreement, will provide Rs.135 millions to ICCBS for strengthening and up-gradation of the Chemico Bacteriological Laboratory that has widely been reported in the media in term of its poor condition.
The MoU was signed in the supervision of Sindh Provincial Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho in the special ceremony, held at the office of the provincial health minister.
Director ICCBS-UoK Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary and the Serologist & Chemical Examiner Abdul Waheed Shaikh signed the agreement in the ceremony. Among others who attended the ceremony were Sindh Secretary Health Zahid Ali Abbasi, Director Development and Evaluation Dabeer A. Khan, Dr. Shakil Ahmed and Mr. Jawaid Riaz.
