KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday ordered release to former Additional Inspector General (AIG) Tanveer Ahmed in a corruption case.
A two-member bench of SHC heard a plea filed by former AIG Tanveer Ahmed against sentence awarded to him by the accountability court. The court declared the National Accountability Bureau (NAB’s) allegations bogus against Tanveer Ahmed.
However, former AIG Fida Shah has also been acquitted in this case. The accountability court had announced 25 years of imprisonment to Tanveer Ahmed.
The accused were charged with embezzling funds in the Police department by making fake bills of CNG and Petrol and they caused loss to the national exchequer.
