Rangers arrests eight robbery suspects in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Friday arrested eight suspected criminals involved in cases of street crime and robberies.

Rangers spokesman alleged that the suspects were behind a robbery at a Pakwan centre in Quadabad — from where over Rs.13 million were looted – on September 23 and were involved in a street robbery – stealing over Rs80,000 from a person in Landhi area on September 27.

Four pistols, four motorbikes, 2 rickshaws, and 15 mobile phones were also confiscated from the custody of the arrested suspects.

Earlier on October 14, Rangers conducted raids at Kharadar, Korangi, Mehmoodabad, Metahdar and arrested 14 suspects – believed to be involved in street crime and robberies.

On October 5, special policing powers of Rangers in Sindh were further extended for three months.
