Renowned religious figure Maulana Tariq Jamil on Thursday called on incarcerated former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Lahore’s hospital.
Tariq Jamil held a meeting with the former premier for an hour where he inquired after his health and prayed for his speedy recovery. “May Almighty Allah grant you good health soon,” Maulana Jamil told Nawaz.
He said that these were testing times for Nawaz Sharif and prayed that he is able to overcome his tribulations.
The former premier has been advised not to shave or brush his teeth, according to Dr Mehmood Ayaz, the head of the medical board tasked with treating the former premier.
Nawaz’s mother Begum Shamim Akhter, brother Shehbaz Sharif, Naeem Butt, and Shabbir Ahmed Usmani were also present during the meeting.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief has undergone transfusion of six mega units of platelets, while doctors were reported to transfuse the seventh mega unit into his Thursday.
His physicians would be able to ascertain the production of platelets in his blood in the next four to five days.
