LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said on Wednesday that she told former premier Nawaz Sharif that government would not oppose his decision if he desires to get medical treatment abroad.
Speaking to the media outside Services Hospital after meeting the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader, she said that Nawaz expressed satisfaction with the treatment he is getting at the hospital.
“I inquired after his health on behalf of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar,” she said.
“We want a precise diagnosis of the ailment but it will take some time to reach a definite conclusion. Precaution is taken when platelets of any patient reduce but the platelets count is being currently monitored,” she added.
“Bleeding started after Nawaz brushed his teeth and the doctor has now directed him to avoid brushing or shaving,” she said. His blood pressure is now normal, she added.
“I am a doctor myself and will never do politics on anyone‘s illness. We are political rivals but we are not enemies of each other,” she concluded.
