JACOBABAD: Four newborns lost their lives at a private clinic in tehsil Thal of Jacobabad due to oxygen shortage on Saturday.
As per details, the incident happened because of the negligence of the hospital staff. The newborns were healthy and normal when they were brought to the ward but during the night, staff didn’t check the oxygen supply which resulted in the expiration of the babies.
The parents were also not allowed to visit the babies.
The families of the newborns protested outside the hospital when they were informed about the incident. Later, SSP Bashir Ahmed Brohi sealed the private clinic to bring the situation under control.
When contacted for a comment, the District Health Officer (DHO) said that he is not aware of any such incident.
