LAHORE: A narcotics court on Friday extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah for 15 days.

Anti-Narcotics Force personnel produced Sanaullah in court for the hearing in a case pertaining to drug recovery.

As the hearing went underway, the court rejected a plea by ANF seeking permission to indict him.

The prosecutor told the court, during the proceedings, that the associates of the accused were recording court proceedings to later use it to blackmail ANF officials.

“The accused is spreading baseless propaganda and a smearing campaign has started,” the prosecutor said.

“Whatever happens outside of the courtroom is of no business to this court”, the judge remarked.

After arguments of lawyers, the court summoned a detailed record of the phone calls of PML-N leader on the request of the defense counsel.

Subsequently, the court extended the judicial remand of Rana Sanaullah for 15 days.
