KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday once again rejected the bail plea of a UC chairman, Raheem Shah, in Irshad Ranjhani murder case.
As the plea came up for hearing, the court rejected it. The bail plea was filed for second time. However, Sindh High Court (SHC) dismissed bail plea of Rahim Shah, who had shot to death Irshad Ranjhani, a local leader of Jeay Sindh Tahreek, a nationalist group, in February.
The SHC had ordered the accused for filing another bail plea after recording of the statement of a medico-legal officer. Ranjhani was publically shot dead by Rahim Shah. Later, a video clip went viral on social media which led to Sindh-wide protests against Shah. It must be noted here that, an eyewitness of the case, Masood Shah, central leader of JST, has gone missing since last month.
