Qureshi and Tareen mend relations

At least some of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s problems seem to have been allayed after his party’s central leaders — Jahangir Khan Tareen and Shah Mahmood Qureshi — announced that they have reconciled their differences.

Talking to reporters, Foreign Minister Qureshi said that he has no grudges against Jahangir Tareen and Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar and had normalised relations with the two before leaving for Hajj.

Qureshi said, “Imran Khan needs sincere friends. I buried whatever issues I had with Jahangir Tareen and Governor Sarwar before leaving for Hajj.”

“I also have no grudges against Salman Naeem (a candidate who defeated him in an independent capacity and later joined the PTI),” he added.

Tareen confirmed Qureshi’s claim in a separate media talk on Saturday.

The former PTI secretary general said that Qureshi had spoken to him before leaving for Hajj and that both men had sorted their differences.

“We are united under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran and will make joint efforts to achieve his vision for a prosperous Pakistan,” he said.
