PM to chair federal cabinet meeting on Oct 16

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a session of the federal cabinet on Oct 16 where he will take the cabinet members into confidence over his recent visit to China.

Reportedly, a 15-point agenda will also be discussed in the forthcoming session.

It has emerged that the premier will hold consultations with the cabinet over his expected visits to Saudi Arabia and Iran besides reviewing the political and economic situation of the country.

A briefing will be given to the cabinet members over the assets’ details of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), the master plan of the federal capital Islamabad and the re-organisation of Capital Development Authority (CDA).

Moreover, the cabinet is likely to approve the decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and the appointment of the managing director of the National Fertilizer Marketing Limited (NFML).

Earlier on Oct 1, the federal cabinet meeting, which was presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan, had approved the first-ever e-commerce policy of the country.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran on Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan, while briefing media after the meeting, said the cabinet has approved the e-commerce policy amid the rising trend of internet-shopping in the country.
