ISLAMABAD: Indian troops on Wednesday martyred two Kashmiri youth in Pulwama district in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK).
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), the troops killed two boys identified as Ufaid Farooq Lone and Abbas Ahmad Butt during a search operation in Awantipora area.
Meanwhile, violent military operations have continued in Ganderbal, Bandipore, Kupwara, Baramulla, Srinagar, Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar and other parts of the occupied territory for the past 12 days.
Daily life has been seriously affected in the valley and the Muslim parts of Jammu, with reports pouring in of night raids, arrests and killings amid the ongoing military clampdown coupled with the communications blackout.
People in IOK are facing a serious shortage in essential commodities as all major markets remain shut while public transport remains prohibited.
An Indian online news portal, NewsClick.in, has criticized the Indian Supreme Court over its silence, inaction and indifference to a number of petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370.
The web portal cited United Nations experts that the blackout is a form of collective punishment for the people of IOK and remarked that concerns raised by experts has failed to awaken the constitutional conscience of the Supreme Court.
It is worth mentioning here that India’s top court has adjourned hearings on these petitions till November 14.
After the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to install a Hindu chief minister through gerrymandering in the name of delimitation.
BJP Kashmir chief, Ravinder Raina in a media interview in Jammu said the party is hopeful of getting its ‘first Chief Minister’ after the planned delimitation of assembly constituencies.
