Bid to smuggle heroin foiled at Peshawar airport

PESHAWAR: The Airport Security Force (ASF) on Wednesday foiled a bid to smuggle three kilogrammes of heroin to Dubai and arrested the suspect at Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar.

According to ASF sources, the drug was recovered from the luggage of a passenger, who was scheduled to board a private airline’s Dubai-bound flight shortly, during a search. As per his flight schedule, he was due to jet off to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia from Dubai.

The detainee, who hails from Mardan, had managed to reach the last search point but was caught by the force.

The drugs were valued at millions of rupees in the international market.
