Prime accused in Karachi gang-rape case imprisoned

KARACHI: A local court on Thursday sent to jail the prime suspects of an alleged gang rape case, reported a local news outlet.

According to sources, the alleged crime was committed in Karachi’s Shadman Town, wherein several culprits along with the main accused were involved.

According to details, suspects were brought in court one by one in front of the complainant woman for an identification parade.

The woman identified two of the suspects before the judicial magistrate.

The court subsequently ordered the medical report of the woman to be presented and sent the accused to jail on judicial remand.

Last week, a woman was allegedly gang-raped by six men who forcefully entered her house in North Karachi.

The police took timely action and arrested all six men nominated in the First Information Report (FIR). The arrested persons include Danish, Sarfaraz, Razzak, Naeem, and Kamran.

During initial investigations, it was revealed that two of the detainees worked for the police department. Sarfaraz was deployed at the West Zone intelligence branch office, while Danish was a driver at the Superintendent Police (SP) office in Gujrat.

All suspects confessed their crimes under police custody, sources claimed.
