No woman should stay silent when disrespected, says Constable Faiza

FEROZEWALA: Constable Faiza Nawaz on Wednesday said that no woman should stay silent when she gets disrespected.

She expressed this while addressing a press conference and further said that she isn’t playing politics neither she is representing the police department.

“This issue is about every woman who gets out of her house to work. I was attacked by a lawyer while I was on duty and this has shattered my self-respect,” she said.

She also said that other lawyers from Ferozewala bar are running a character assassination campaign against her.

“They are doing my character assassination on social media and posting baseless stories against me. No woman should go through this,” she said.

The PTI leaders, including two members of the Punjab Assembly, Uzma Kardar and Mussarat Jamshed Cheema, demanded the courts to provide justice to Constable Faiza.

“We condemn what happened with Constable Faiza Nawaz. PTI will always support women and would ensure their safety and on this issue, the government is standing with Faiza,” she said.

“Courts should take action against this so in future no one dares to act in such manner,” she concluded.
