KARACHI: Three minor children drowned in gathered rainwater in Qasim Goth near Gaddani area of the city on Tuesday.
Those who drowned were later recognised as 10-year-old Inayat, 8-year-old Aslam and their sister, 12-year-0ld Robina.
Rescue officials shifted their bodies to Gaddani hospital for medico-legal procedure and after that, they were handed over to the family.
A sharp rise in drowning incidents has been noticed lately.
In previous week alone, at least five people lost their lives after getting drowned in stream water.
On 27 August, four children fell into an open hole which could not be detected by them due to excessive rainwater on the road. Rescue team reported that two of the boys died in the incident while the other two were in a critical condition.
