ISLAMABAD: Former Senate chairman Mian Raza Rabbani on Wednesday said that the decision to re-examine the rules of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is merely an eyewash and won’t serve any purpose in making the institution more professional.

Rabbani asserted that the federal cabinet‘s decision to re-examine the rules is to seek revenge from political figures. The proposed amendment clearly states that only political figures can avail the facility to appear in special courts and avail special laws, he added.

He further added that only parliamentary committee should be able to investigate members of parliament and the best solution is to set up a Federal Commission for Accountability.

Laws should not be different for different people, one law should be followed and practised in the country, he concluded.
