ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, who is the prime suspect in the rental power case, on Monday submitted a petition for the removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) so that he can travel abroad.

Pervez filed this application in the Islamabad High Court in which he has challenged the notification of him being added in the ECL.

In the petition, his legal counsel has made National Accountability Court (NAB) Chairman Javed Iqbal and Director General of Passport and Immigration parties.

Pervaiz also mentioned in this petition that he has to travel abroad in September to attend a conference. “The political case was framed against me in 2013 and since then I have travelled abroad for eight times and every time I returned on completion of my tour, so I should be allowed to travel abroad keeping in view my track record.”, he added.
