Forget Kashmir, Pakistan should take up Imran Khan at the UN Security Council: Maryam Nawaz

SARGODHA – As her rapturous rally entered the early hours of Wednesday morning, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President struck the latest blow towards the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) government as she demanded that Pakistan take up the case of Prime Minister Imran Khan at the United Nation’s Security Council.

Addressing the hordes attending the ‘Kashmir Rally’ in Sargodha, Maryam Nawaz said the single biggest issue, the single biggest threat, the single biggest crisis for Pakistan needs to be resolved before anything else can be addressed.

“I demand that the Opposition unite to push the government to take up Imran Khan at the UN Security Council, and take all possible steps on the political, diplomatic and security fronts to ensure that the Imran Khan crisis is resolved,” she said.

“The fact that I am making this demand at a rally that is called Kashmir Rally shows that this is an even bigger issue. Forget Kashmir, first we need to resolve Imran Khan,” she added.

The demand came after Maryam Nawaz had already asked the Opposition not to support the government over Kashmir.

The PML-N vice president has further announced that she will next hold a rally in Muzzafarabad, Azad Kashmir to build further pressure on the international community to mediate in resolving Imran Khan.
