ISLAMABAD:  Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways Sheikh Rashid on Wednesday reached Walhar Station and visited the place where Akbar Express collided with a freight train, resulting in the death of 21 passengers and injuring several others.

During his visit, the minister expressed hope that the incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will complete its five years and different tactics being used by opposition parties won’t yield any significant results.

He further said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman can try every trick up his sleeve but in the end, nothing will work for him this time.

Rasheed also said that the delegation of PTI who met Fazl earlier was reprimanded by PM Imran. Once we have achieved economic goals set by our government, the opposition will lose its voice and influence altogether, he added.

While bashing PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz, the federal minister said she is the reason behind ex-PM Nawaz Sharif’s destruction.

“The best performance has been given by the Ministry of Railways. I will present myself before the nation on August 24 after completion of my one year as the minister,” he announced.
