KARACHI:A massive fire erupted in a cloth factory in Karachi’s Shershah area on Saturday.
The blaze, which the fire brigade officials termed third degree fire, engulfed the factory and six godowns.
Around seven fire tenders and a snorkel were busy extinguishing the inferno at the time of filing of this story.
Officials said they had sought fire tenders from all over the megacity. Fortunately, no loss of life has yet been reported in the wake of the incident.
Emergency was imposed at the nearby hydrants of area Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), a spokesperson said.
Several water tankers have been dispatched to the site of the inferno to help put it out.
While, taking notice of the incident, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed Commissioner Karachi to use all available resources for dousing the fire.
