Punjab govt released Rs52bn for various development schemes: CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the provincial government has released 52 billion rupees for various schemes and a comprehensive mechanism has been devised for the monitoring of development projects.

In a statement on Tuesday, Usman Buzdar said that strict monitoring will be done at every level and no compromise will be made on the quality of work done.

He also directed that the pace of work should be expedited on ADP schemes and correct utilization of development budget be ensured as well. He made it clear that delay in the utilization of funds will not be tolerated and added that the annual development program is reflective of governmental priorities which are aimed at the welfare of the masses.

The public-private partnership will be promoted for attracting more investment in different sectors and public-private partnership authority is also being formed to move further in this regard, the Chief Minister added.

The Punjab government has given importance to meeting public needs in its ADP and more funds are provided for the development of the social sector, Usman Buzdar said adding that the provincial government has also protected the rights of the farmers who remained a victim to an exploitative system during the past tenures.
