ISLAMABAD/WASHINGTON – After the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) announced a $5.976billion (Rs944.21 billion) penalty against Pakistan in the Reko Diq case, Islamabad has been preparing an appeal against the verdict.

According to credible sources, Pakistan has prepared a watertight case in its appeal and is expected to be triumphant, which should result in the overturning of the $5.976billion that has been awarded against Pakistan.

Sources have informed The Dependent that videos of the ICSID tribunal that gave the verdict against Pakistan have been prepared as part of the comprehensive appeal that has left no stones unturned.

While the exact membership of the tribunal that gave the verdict against Pakistan, and indeed the tribunal that will take up the appeal, is not known, those making the videos know exactly where the tribunal members have been on Saturday nights in the recent past. Moreover, videos have also been prepared for ICSID Secretary-General Meg Kinnear.

The scope and strength of Pakistan’s case can be gauged by the fact that videos are also available for the activities of Saturday night of the investigative reporter working on this story, even though he was at home all-day, still is a virgin, and for all intents and purposes does not exist beyond the disclaimer given in the text above.
