LAHORE/MUMBAI – Global superstar Shaan Shahid has slammed little known actor from India Shah Rukh Khan for the latter’s Hindi voiceover in the upcoming remake of The Lion King.

Shah Rukh Khan, who dubs Mufasa in the film, tweeted a trailer of the Hindi version of The Lion King, resulting in a strong reaction from Shaan.

“James Earl Jones must be laughing. What Shah Rukh fails to understand is that the characters in the film are sketched according to the animal habitat… you see dubbing for such a voice required experience in action and dance sequences around livestock and agriculture,” Shaan tweeted.

Shaan further expressed his displeasure over the fact that the film was dubbed in an anti-Pakistan, anti-Muslim language in the first place.

“Please don’t destroy an iconic film with [a] Hindi dub. It should only have an Urdu dub if you’re a true patriot, a Punjabi dub if you want capture the actual audience in Pakistan, or Arabic dub if you want to earn sawaab,” he tweeted.

At press time, Shaan couriered an original DVD of Buddha Sher to Walt Disney Pictures confident that a Punjabi dubbed version of The Lion King would be scheduled for the near future.
