Zardari has no benami properties, says Chandio

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Wednesday rejected the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s claim that former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari owned benami properties.

Addressing a press conference, PPP Information Secretary Senator Moula Bux Chandio said that the party categorically denies that Zardari owned benami properties. He challenged the government to approach the court if it had evidence in this regard rather than holding press conferences.

He said that opposition has the numbers and the Senate chairman would be from the opposition benches. “The PTI government has miserably failed on all fronts and is busy to blame game just to hide its failures,” he said.

Chandio said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is going to stay in Pakistani embassy during his US visit in the garb of austerity but the fact is that he is a wanted man in that country.

“Even a child knows why he is going to stay at the Pakistani embassy because he is wanted by US authorities,” he added.
