Karachi poet shot dead in ‘mugging attempt’

KARACHI: Shazia Ali Khan, wife of a university professor, lost her life during an attempted mugging on Monday in the jurisdiction of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station.

According to area police, the victim was a resident of Staff Colony.

She was intercepted by alleged muggers motorcyclist.

However, in an attempt to avoid the robbery, she increased the speed of her vehicle.

The attacker, however, fired at the vehicle, injuring her fatally.

Sources at the NED University said Shazia Khan is known in the literary circle of Karachi as a poet and was also a mother of two young sons.
