Traders strike materialisation of Imran’s lock-down dream

LAHORE: Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘longstanding dream’ of shutting down the entire country has materialised in the shape of a countrywide strike of the traders.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president likening the sit-in of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2014 that had paralysed the federal capital with the traders’ strike against taxes. “If the government tried to put me under house arrest, I assure you, we’ll lock down the entire country,” Khan had said at a PTI workers’ convention held in Lahore in August 2014.

Shehbaz said that the ‘selected’ government came to power after stealing the public mandate and in less than one year they have sold the nation to the IMF.

He further said that Nawaz Sharif-led government “worked day and night” and eradicated load-shedding and cleaned the country from the plague of terrorism.
