A 14-year-old girl went missing from Lahore on Monday afternoon after which police and her family are desperately searching for her.
According to her family, the teenager, Sadia Iman Iqbal, was last seen at 12 pm on Monday when she left to attend a tuition academy in her neighbourhood; however, she did not return home at the usual time whereas the academy closes at 3 pm.
Although her phone remained switched on throughout the day, no one attended the calls.
“We immediately called the police and had a first information report (FIR) registered,” her uncle Rashid Bhatti told a local news channel.
“The police did not have the resources to trace her whereabouts so; the family used their own connection to locate her. This morning her location was somewhere near Mehrabpur and Khairpur in Sindh. We suspect that is where she is being taken somewhere after being kidnapped,” he said while adding that they are not suspicious of anyone as yet.
It is pertinent to mention here that the teenage girl’s father is blind.
“I am blind. I can’t do anything,” he said while weeping. “Please, I appeal to the public, to the prime minister and president, please bring my daughter back.”
