KARACHI: Dr Abdul Qudoos Shaikh, a Customs official, on Tuesday passed away at Agha Khan University Hospital in Karachi days after he came under attack by alleged smugglers in Quetta.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan Customs Services, the young officer was severely wounded during the incident and was transported to Karachi due to his critical condition.
Dr Shaikh, however, could not sustain bullet injuries and passed away.
Police have arrested three suspects in relation to the attack.
Balochistan Inspector General Police (IGP) Mohsin Butt requested for formation of a committee to probe the attack.
He wrote a letter to the interior department for including police, customs, and intelligence agencies officials in the committee.
