Police arrest 30 suspects in minor’s rape case

The Islamabad Police on Tuesday arrested 30 suspects in a rape case of four-year-old Fatima Zafar, registered at Bhara Kahu Police Station.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) told media persons that 30 suspects have been arrested in connection with this case, while two teams headed by SP (Investigation) and SP (City) have been constituted to interrogate the suspects and arrest the culprit.

He said that IGP Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar had directed the teams to accelerate the investigation, and efforts were underway to arrest the criminals.

According to details, Zafar Abbas, father of Fatima Zafar, lodged the report (Case no.288/19) with Bhara Kahu police that her daughter was kidnapped from her doorstep on July 8 around 9 pm.

She was found 30 minutes later, lying unconscious in bushes.

The girl was admitted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital.
