–PPP chief says govt’s economic policies are making lives miserable
–Accuses PM Imran of being a ‘drug addict lost in his own habit’
–Says non-issuance of MNAs’ production order amounts to injustice with Waziristan people
MOHMAND: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has always fought for the rights of the people and it will continue its struggle to safeguard people’s rights, said its chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari at a public gathering in Mohmand tribal districts.
Addressing the gathering, the PPP chairman recalled it was former president Asif Ali Zardari who “provided identity and rights” to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The PPP leader said that former president had increased the budget of tribal areas to 500 per cent during the tenure of the PPP.
He reiterated that Centre had passed the federal budget in the National Assembly (NA) through rigging, adding the government slashed the health, education and development budget.
“This budget is not the budget made by the incumbent government. This budget is the International Monetary Fund (IMF) budget,” he said, adding that the worst economic policies of the government were making the life of people miserable.
Bilawal said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government ruined KP in the last six years. “Have you got new hospitals of liver, kidney and heart in KP? Are you getting free medical treatment on the province?” he asked.
The PPP chairman said that provinces are becoming bankrupt due to the poor economic policies of the incumbent government. “The budget presented by the ‘selected’ prime minister is nothing more than economic terrorism,” he added.
Speaking about the detained Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) MNAs Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar, Bilawal said that the government had passed the budget without issuing their production orders.
“This is a crime against the people of Waziristan for they had no representative to voice their concerns,” he said, adding that he was the only one who had demanded their production orders.
Speaking about the cancellation of Zardari’s interview from TV, he said, “What kind of democracy and freedom is this that an Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav’s interview can be aired but the youth of the tribal areas and former president Asif Zardari’s interview is not.”
He accused Prime Minister Imran Khan of being a “drug addict”, saying he had Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah arrest for allegedly possessing drugs while he himself is lost in his “own drug habit”.
The PPP chairman also urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take steps to ensure free and fair elections in the country.
Bilawal also announced that his party will hold public gatherings at Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan on July 6 and workers’ convention in Peshawar.
