ISLAMABAD: The government has placed Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader and Members of National Assembly (MNAs) Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir on the Exit Control List (ECL), it was learnt on Thursday.

According to informed sources, the government placed the names of Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir on the no-fly list for ‘running’ an alleged campaign against the state institutions, including Pakistan Army.

The interior ministry sent the summary to the federal cabinet for the approval. According to the sources, the interior ministry has sent 46 cases to federal cabinet related to the ECL, proposing 23 names remain on ECL while suggesting exclusion of seven names.

In November last year, the government placed the MNAs on the ECL; however, their names were removed in December after Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the ministry for the same.

Dawar and Wazir were arrested for their alleged involvement in Kharqamar attack, wherein 13 people were killed and five soldiers were injured.

Despite repeated requests by the opposition parties, the government has refused to issue their production orders to take part in the National Assembly session.
