–PML-N chief says there is no ‘fan, power supply in MNA’s cell’
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday express solidarity with party leader Rana Sanaullah, who’s in jail over “drugs charges,” saying that the lawmaker was being imprisoned in conditions that could amount to criminal negligence.
In a press conference, the PML-N chief accused the government ‘criminal negligence’, saying Sana was denied “food, water and medicines” even though he has a history of heart diseases in addition to diabetes.
“There is no fan or power supply. Food and water are not being provided to him. He also needs to take medicines for his eye, which are not being provided,” Shehbaz said, calling Prime Minister Imran Khan a ‘fascist’.
In his previous press conference on Tuesday, the PML-N chief accused the prime minister of being responsible for Sana’s arrest to settle scores. He reiterated this today as well, saying the PML-N has been a target of PM Imran.
“They could not find any corruption cases against Sanaullah, so they made up a heroin case against him,” he added.
Sana reportedly spent his first night in jail sleeping on the floor. According to reports, the lawmaker spent the night sleeping on the floor of Barrack No. 6 at Lahore’s Camp Jail, where he was provided with just a single sheet to sleep on.
The PML-N leader was shifted to his cell after jail authorities emptied all neighbouring barracks, while the five other accused were kept in the old block of the prison.
