LAHORE: Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and former Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in connection with a drug-related case.
He was arrested near Sukekhi while he was on his way from Lahore to Faisalabad.
Local media outlets report that complaints were being received against the politician for a long time. According to the reports, Sanaullah has alleged connections with drug dealers related to proscribed organisations.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader, who presides over the party’s Punjab wing, is being interrogated by the ANF officials currently.
The news of his arrest has yet to be confirmed by his party and government officials; however, journalist Talat Hussain confirmed that his family is unable to call him and the phones of his guards are switched off as well.
ANF officials have also confirmed the arrest.
